Position Summary

Easy Dynamics is looking for a Technical/Solution Architect who assists development teams in the delivery of systems that conform to the requirements and approach of the goals of major transformation projects within DHS HQ. The work requires the ability to review project documentation, such as requirement and design documents; the ability to understand and identify gaps and inconsistencies with EA principles and guidance; the ability to explain and present complex issues and design tradeoffs; and the ability to actively participate in technical sessions such as design reviews and code walkthroughs. The Technology/Solution Architect should have some specialization in, or is involved with, systems of interest including cloud infrastructure deployments, financial services applications, and/or human resources tools.  The incumbent will work with peer technical personnel involved with software development, database design, infrastructure design, and information security. He/she may participate in crosscutting, multi-component efforts and look for solutions that cut across all DHS. An IT/Solution Architect must be able to understand issues in a variety of IT disciplines and must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively verbally and in writing.

Basic Qualifications

  • Assists development teams in the delivery of systems that conform to the requirements and approach of the goals of major transformation projects within DHS HQ.
  • ​Builds system models required to show alignment to the business models.
  • Provide documentation that shows the alignment of the system flows and requirements to the business processes and requirements.
  • Reviews and/or approves project documentation.
  • Identifies gaps and inconsistencies with EA principles and guidance and proposes remediation.
  • Explains and presents complex issues and design tradeoffs.
  • Participates in technical sessions such as design reviews and code walkthroughs.
  • Explains the rationale for architectural decision and defends architectural principles, standards and methods.
  • Ensures that development projects employ approved products and standards, uses and/or delivers re-usable services and data, applies required information security safeguards, avoids unnecessary duplication and redundancy and satisfies customer requirements in a cost effective manner.

 

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Experience as a solutions architect on a federal information system, preferrably within DHS.
  • Experience as an architect of cloud deployments.
  • Experience as an architect of Oracle systems.
  • Experience as an architect of data warehouses.
  • US Citizenship Required
